Welcome

Welcome to the Web site of Wayne State University’s Office of Government and Community Affairs. We have designed this site to be a source of information for the Wayne State University community, state legislators, members of Congress, local officials, community groups, and others who might have an interest in Michigan’s only urban research university – Wayne State.

The office of Government and Community Affairs supports the university’s goals and strategic plan by working with local state and federal elected officials to ensure adequate funding for the University and the more than 33,000 students who are enrolled in one or more of our 350+ academic programs. Our Community Affairs office is actively involved in the community, working with the many diverse ethnic and cultural organizations throughout Detroit and the metropolitan area.

Click on the “Legislative Alert Center” menu option to the left, and learn how you can get involved in advocating for Wayne State. Whether you are a student, a member of our alumni, a contributor to the university, or a member of the faculty or administration, you can make a difference.

If you have questions or comments about WSU’s Government and Community Affairs operations, please feel free to contact us at (313) 577-5284 or by e-mail at govcomaffairs@wayne.edu.

Sincerely,
Harvey Hollins III
Vice President, Government and Community Affairs
